乐动体育app正版The Undergraduate Research Program is a 10-week biomedical research experience with a faculty member in the Texas A&M College of Dentistry.
The purpose of the program is to give undergraduate students from any institution, who have an interest in pursuing a future career in biomedical research related to dentistry, the opportunity to work in a laboratory and perform a research project during the summer. This is an opportunity to do research and not a means of getting into dental school. The principle goals of the summer research program are 1) to enhance the educational experience of the undergraduate students, and 2) to encourage and facilitate the development of a future generation of scientist and educators interested in dental research.
The 10-week program consists of students working closely with Texas A&M University College of Dentistry faculty on research projects in basic or clinical science disciplines. This is a mentored training program, which presents the student trainee the opportunity to gain insight into the development and implementation of biomedical research, learn how to write a proposal for a specific scientific question, conduct the research, and present the project results in poster or oral format. Matching of selected participants with faculty mentors conducting research in their area of interest provides a tailored research experience. Faculty mentors are located on the College of Dentistry campus in Dallas, Texas.
Students will participate in weekly seminars on Responsible Conduct in Research乐动体育app正版, learn principles of scientific investigation, receive training in the ethical aspects of human and animal experimentation, and attend scientific seminars.
